| Simon is the City of Grant's representative on the Newaygo County Board of Commissioners. He represents District #7, which includes the City of Grant, Grant Township, and Ensley Township. Simon has been a member of the County Commission since January, 2009. With redistricting that took place recently, District #7 will comprise of Grant Township, City of Grant, and Ashland Township at the next election for the County Commissioner seat.

All County Commission members are elected to two-year terms. Simon's term will expire December 31,2012. Our newly elected commissioner has made the commitment to attend the ten to twelve various board appointment meetings regularly every month as everyone has come to expect of the County Commissioner for the 7th District.
