Water Tower Park The City of Grant's new Water Tower Park is located in the center of the downtown business district, and you cannot possibly miss it. The park features one of the last two historic wooden water towers remaining in the State of Michigan, a Chessie System Caboose, decorative landscaping, picnic tables, park benches, a beautiful larger donor placque and one smaller placque that was installed just before the June 5, 2009 ribbon cutting ceremony. A special thanks is given to the Fremont Area Community Foundation for their generous grant which made this entire project possible, as well as Milt Barr of Grant Welding, and Rich Ulrich of Detail Painting for their generous contributions to the project.

Blanche Lake Park
Located on Park Drive just off of east State Road
The new 6' by 36' dock was installed in the late summer and has been removed until spring 2010. We were able to install three cement slabs, which greatly improved the existing boat launch. This has already helped boaters getting their boats in and out of the lake much easier, which will in turn only improve the water by adding oxygen to the lake. We are hoping to find a way to bring back a swimming beach, but this will not take place for at least one more year. Our new park restroom was delivered in October 2008 thanks to a grant from the Fremont Area Community Foundation. Now families and visitors will have a clean restroom to use when visiting the lake. If you notice anything on the Blanche Lake Park grounds needing attention, please e-mail the Department of Public Works and let them know about your concern. Any complaints should be directed to the City's complaint form that must be signed and returned to the City of Grant offices. Please note that anonymous complaints cannot be received or resolved.

Ryan Benson Memorial Skate Park Located 2 blocks off of M-37: Main Street to Lake Street, right to Brink Street, and left on Harold. "Know Your Limits, and Skate Within Them!" We have installed state-of-the-art surveillance cameras as the Skate Park, so please remind those using the park to abide by all of the rules, and that we can see them from great distances. Tickets will be issued for littering, so remember to always use the trash receptacles. Also, visitors are strongly discouraged from bringing any questionable substances into the park. All activity is regularly and closely monitored, and we want to ensure all of our visitors have an enjoyable experience. Please remember to stay out of the path of other users, and stay clear of the ramps while in use to avoid injury to yourself and other users.
Students attending the City Commission meeting recently asked if the Commission had any plans to add onto the skate park. Once the park is re-opened, the Commission will wait to see how well the park users are taking care of their park before any decisions are made pertaining to expansion. Milt Barr from Grant Welding has finished installing the new steel ramps, and he did a wonderful job. We still need to apply a fresh coat of paint to the steel ramp surfaces, but the renovation itself is now complete. We want to thank Rich Ulrich of Detail Painting on Elder Avenue for volunteering to paint the old blue steel surfaces to an energetic orange color. This project would not be possible without these businesses generous contributions and continued dedication to volunteerism.
