A Message from the Mayor
Welcome to the City of Grant, a city of more than 1,000 people located in beautiful southern Newaygo County. We have unbeatable views involving some the prettiest lakes and rivers in the Midwest. To the North, we enjoy the hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling as well as many other outdoor activities not common in the South. To the west, we enjoy the shores of Lake Michigan. The majestic views of the lake, sand dunes, and the sunsets stir many emotions to those who visit and those who live here. These are sights that can only be found here in West Michigan and are a gift to our residents. In Grant, government, business and the community actively partner and collaborate on everything from entertainment, to the arts, to health care, to education and to farming. We play hard and we work hard. It’s not a coincidence that the thinkers and innovators fueling the 21st Century are moving to reinvent what we do in West Michigan. We are a growing our urban setting rich in diversity, cultural amenities and outdoor recreational opportunities. We have some of the best salmon and steelhead fishing in the world. As a matter of fact, a new World Record Brown Trout was recently caught just North of Newaygo County. Grant is a small city in motion with movers and shakers who know innovation doesn’t happen when you are standing still. Welcome to our beautiful City of Grant.
Sincerely, Terry Fett, Mayor
Welcome Visitors! The City of Grant is continuously updating our website to serve our residents, business owners, and visitors. This site is just one of the many signs that new and exciting things have been happening in our community. This site offers information about our city, current news, upcoming events and public meetings, and will highlight the variety of special events, activities, and diverse aspects of our community that make this City special. This site also includes our regular city newsletter and contact information for all of our elected officials and staff members. In January 2009, the Grant City Commission adopted a universal complaint form for residents and visitors who seek resolution of a variety of City-related matters. Please remember to fill out the form in it's entirety as anonymous complaints cannot be accepted or resolved. If you ever have any questions that cannot be answered on these pages, I encourage you to contact us. We also welcome constructive criticism and suggestions for how we can better serve the community. Whether you are a resident, visitor, or a professional who does business in the City, we hope you will find this site informative and easy to navigate.
Sincerely, Sherry Powell Assistant City Manager/Clerk
